Move Forward

I want to start a movement!

Seriously.

I see too many people standing still.  Paralyzed.  Settling.

Settling for what they have.  Settling for their circumstances.  Settling for good enough.  Of course, there’s nothing wrong with thinking, planning, contemplating, or even talking about it.  What really bugs me is the inaction.

Blame it on my Maximizer and Activator talent schemes.  But for goodness sake, when you’ve thought about it, what’s stopping you from acting?  Is it the fear of the unexpected?  The fear of failure?  The idea that you can actually be right?  Can that feeling really exist?  Who knows… I might be right.

So here goes, I want to start a movement of moving forward.

Take that single bold step forward that will take you from point A to point B and closer to what you want.  A better job, a better relationship, a better route to escape the horrendous traffic, a better anything!  Just… not settle.

Forget about what people will think of you.  Who cares what they think?  They don’t live your life, do they?

My five-year old nephew constantly moves!  He’s always doing something, saying something, asking for something and doesn’t stop until he gets what he wants. He even tries things he likes to do and sees if he can do it. “Tita Joth, look at me!” And he makes a ninja move he just saw in a video game. He wakes up in the morning, goes to my room, looks for my phone and asks “Tita Joth, can I have 30 minutes?” That’s the limit, most of the time. He arrives from school and tells me “Tita Joth, Chloe pulled my pants down!” Ok, that one is somewhat related. At five, I figured he wanted to get something embarrassing off his chest so he can move forward.

There’s no better time for good, positive change than now.  Don’t wait for your circumstances to change. For people to change. For the fruit to ripen from the tree and fall in your basket.  You have to act. Decide. Then move forward.

Its precisely this why I decided to audition for a radio jock position even at a young age of 43. Hopeful but not expecting. Not yet too late to discover my passion.
